CTPAT: security evidence that is not assembled the week of the validation.Does the evidence exist before they ask?

Certification requires a current security profile, a risk assessment of every business partner and evidence of the minimum criteria across the chain. Today that is assembled in folders before each review. Vora keeps it alive from the supplier, carrier and shipment data the plant already records.

The question

Which carriers moved export cargo this quarter, and which ones do not have a current security questionnaire?

Applies to
  • CTPAT
  • OEA
  • CBP
  • Exports
  • Carriers
The problem

Certification is earned once and lost in the details of every year.

3areasof criteria

of minimum security criteria: corporate, transportation, and people and physical security. Each with evidence that expires.

Once a yearreview

at minimum, the security profile and the risk assessment must be reviewed and updated with CBP.

2programsrecognized

with mutual recognition: CTPAT in the United States and OEA in Mexico. Evidence that serves one should serve the other.

CTPAT is voluntary, but its benefit is operational: fewer inspections and faster crossings. Keeping it depends on the evidence for each partner and shipment existing when US Customs asks, not on someone searching for it.

How Vora solves it

Partners, shipments and carriers are already in the data. What is missing is the evidence on top.

Built on the plant’s ontology: the same entities purchasing, logistics and foreign trade use, with the security layer CTPAT requires.

  1. 01

    Business-partner map

Suppliers, carriers, customs brokers and warehouses come from the ERP and the customs entries, with who moves what and where it crosses. The per-partner risk assessment stops being a list rebuilt every year.

  2. 02

    Questionnaires and evidence with expiry

Each partner has its security questionnaire, its own certifications, CTPAT or OEA, and its documents, with expiry dates. What lapses warns beforehand, not during validation.

  3. 03

    Minimum criteria with an owner

Security criteria are modeled as requirements with owner, evidence and frequency: container inspection, seal control, physical access, personnel, cybersecurity. The security profile is generated from there, not the other way round.

  4. 04

    Agents that watch for change

A new carrier on a shipment, a partner that changed legal name, an expired document: agents detect the change in the data and open the task. The annual review becomes a confirmation, not a reconstruction.

What changes

What the plant can answer when CBP asks.

  • 01

Which business partners took part in the period’s export shipments and what each one’s risk is.

  • 02

Which evidence for each minimum criterion is current, which expires and who must renew it.

  • 03

Which carrier moved each container, with which seal and which recorded inspection.

  • 04

What changed in the chain since the last validation.

Questions

What security and foreign-trade teams ask.

No. CBP grants certification and the company earns it. Vora maintains the evidence and the risk assessment the program requires, built on the data the plant already has.

Yes. The two programs have mutual recognition and ask for similar evidence on partners, facilities and transport. The same data base and the same requirements are presented to either one.

What already exists: the ERP’s supplier and carrier catalog, export entries, shipment records and the documents that live in folders today. The ontology links them; nothing has to be migrated.

It is another layer on the same ontology. The suppliers in the CTPAT risk assessment are the same ones importing Annex 24 inputs and declaring Rule 8 permits.
